I’m Maurice Proulx, the proud owner of M.O.E. Commercial Accounting Network Inc. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
After graduating from Northern College of Applied Arts in 1975 with a commercial accounting diploma, I spent the next five years working for a public accounting firm in Timmins, Ontario, before becoming the accountant for a significant construction company in the area. I then worked as a chief accountant for a local airline until 1987. When seeing an urgent need for professional and affordable bookkeeping alternatives for small to medium-sized businesses in our community, I started M.O.E. Commercial Accounting Network Inc.
In the more than twenty years we have been providing accounting services to our community, I have seen my business go from strength to strength. When we started, we were just a two-person operation. Now we have a full-time staff of eight and hire additional staff during tax season.
The philosophy I follow in my day-to-day work life is to “maximize operational efficiency, and results are sure to follow.” This conviction has lead to M.O.E. Commercial Accounting Network Inc. being a force in the accounting industry and attracting increasingly more extensive projects.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my people skills, along with my commitment to running my company with integrity and transparency. The part of my job I find the most rewarding is meeting new and existing clients and seeing that my team and I have exceeded their expectations in every department.
I attribute my success to the family-like business atmosphere that exists in my practice. I have served many generations of Timmins residents, and it gives me no end of satisfaction to see my daughters and granddaughters now a part of the business and doing the same.
When I am not at work, I enjoy a game of golf with my buddies and never miss a chance to hit the greens. I also like woodworking as you have an opportunity to take a piece of wood and turn it into something beautiful and useful. I additionally volunteer at my local church and support our community in whatever way we can.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
